How Much Does Trademark Registration Cost?

Trademark registration cost includes the USPTO filing fee, legal search and application work, and any later filings or responses the application requires.

The total cost of trademark registration depends on the number of marks and classes, the search and application strategy, the filing basis, and what happens during examination.

    USPTO filing fees

As of August 2026, the USPTO base electronic application fee for a Section 1 or Section 44 application is $350 per class when the application meets the base requirements. Additional fees can apply when required information is missing or when an applicant uses certain free-form identifications of goods and services.

    Legal work

Attorney fees may cover search and clearance, risk analysis, selection of the owner and filing basis, identification of goods and services, application preparation, filing, and reporting. Firms may use a flat fee, hourly fee, or staged approach.

    Possible later costs

    • Responses to an Office Action.
    • Statement of Use or extension filings for an intent-to-use application.
    • Additional classes or applications.
    • Opposition or other contested proceedings.
    • Monitoring, enforcement, maintenance, and renewal.

Compare scope, not only the headline number

A low filing price may exclude clearance, strategy, responses, or post-filing guidance. Ask what is included, which government fees are separate, and what happens if the USPTO raises an issue.

Org Law’s Trademark Registration service has a $2,500 legal fee for one application covering up to two classes. Government filing fees and later substantive work are separate. We confirm eligibility for that scope after reviewing the mark, owner, goods or services, use, and search needs.
